Illustrations demonstrating the step-by-step process in administering Narcan.
Over a three-week sprint, I led the design efforts for a social media campaign aimed at educating the public on how to administer Narcan if someone in your vicinity is suffering from an opioid overdose.
In addition to making graphical illustrations to instruct viewers on how to respond to an overdose with Narcan, I had to find a solution to the project’s dual-branding problem, seamlessly integrating Narcan’s magenta-and-black color scheme with the client’s navy-and-green identity while keeping things cohesive.

After consulting with the client, we agreed on a visual style that featured bold, simplified graphics to clearly depict each step in administering Narcan.
The campaign provided a visually clear, easily accessible educational resource to educate on how to administer Narcan. Based on the data, this was immensely successful, emphasizing the importance of visual storytelling in life-saving public health communications and highlighting the potential for dual-branded social media campaigns.
Before the campaign, the client’s social media accounts—in particular, Facebook and Instagram—had stagnated to follower growth of just 0.43% weekly. Following the launch of the campaign, and with a modest social media advertising budget of approximately $1750, the campaign delivered a jump in follower growth, ranging from 1.8 to 2.38% weekly through the campaign’s 6-week duration.
This showed a clear audience interest in practical, actionable information—in this case, with the info related to harm reduction, risk management.
